This post is going to be your guide to travelling around Yogyakarta. I hope this post can help you out from the culinary to the well known destinations. Certainly this is not a complete list of famous food and destinations because I'm here on a limited time ( i visited there only in 3 days), but i'm trying to give you some list to do and some places to eat in Yogyakarta.
1. Eat Gudeg is a must
If you don't know, gudeg is Yogyakarta traditional food. It can be served by dry or wet (with soup). it's consist of rice, Jackfruit seasoned in a traditional way, and your preference of topping. The most basic one would be with egg or with this side dish called "Sambal Krecek" (it's a spicy dish). You can find gudeg anywhere if you're travelling to Yogyakarta. But, the local says the most famous and delicious gudeg restaurant is Yu Djum Gudeg. One portion of Gudeg price is around IDR 30.000

2. Go to Parangkritis beach and Indrayanti beach
There are so many beach in Yogyakarta, but the famous one is Parangkritis Beach and Indrayanti Beach. The sea was pretty clean in Parangkritis, even though it's not for a tanning beach. Don't forget to ride the Andong or Horse Riding in Parangkritis beach. The price for horse riding is around IDR 25.000, you should bargain with the horseman.

Indrayanti beach is a new beach in Yogyakarta, it's located on the top of Gunung Kidul Mountain. if you go there from the city it takes around 2 hours. The beach is different from Parangkritis beach. This beach is easily accessible using private cars and motorcycles. This place has now become a new tourist destination in Yogyakarta. You can also enjoy coconut drink for around IDR 10.000
3. Eat Gelato
There's not many gelato in Yoyakarta, unlike in Bali. This gelato is a new comer. The name of the gelato restaurant is Il Tempo Gelato, located in Prawirotaman area. They sell the gelato with not expensive price, around IDR 20.000-115.000 (X-Big portion with 5 flavours). There are 28 variants of gelato. The vibes is really good, eventhough the restaurant is very crowded. But because the places can fit around 40 peoples, there's no need to queue.
