Hi Savory Warriors! Sorry for the long absent but now we’re back. One of
our crew spent her holiday in Sydney, Australia and visited a lot of great
places to eat. We thought why not make a blog post out of it? Australia is
popular with their delicious brunches and there are some famous cafes that were
visited. But we also managed to visit local recommended-brunch spot that are
quite underrated and the result was simply uh-mazing! So without further ado,
let’s start with the list:
1
. Calabur Café & Diner – Bondi Junction
. Calabur Café & Diner – Bondi Junction
This is a hidden gem in the centre of Bondi Junction. The entrance was
small and dodgy because we have to go to the “basement” area of the building.
But surprisingly, the area is spacious and has a nice touch of plants inside
with sunlight coming from the huge windows. We tried some menus but hands down
one we ordered one of the best egg benedict in our life called Calabur Eggs
Benedict with Wasabi Hollandaise priced at AUD $19.
Every component of the dish was perfect and we can eat all of the
garnishes including the beetroot shave and edible flowers.
The café area is very unique and cozy. They serve great coffee as well.
2.
Zebra Green Café & Bar – Bondi Junction
Our friends who lived in Bondi area brought us here and again, the
entrance looked very dodgy from the outside. But once we stepped inside and
went to the outdoor area, we’re amazed with how they put the place together.
This café has a lot of healthy food choices and we went for the Brekkie Board
which tasted surprisingly very good!
Brekkie Board AUD $19 with their homemade dips, my favorite dip was the
beetroot one! The seasoning is simple yet compliments the other component of
the dish.
Cozy yet stylish outdoor seating area for you and your friends to hang
out.
3.
Trio – Bondi Beach
This café and dining place is actually one of the most famous place to
get brunch in Sydney. We are skeptical about it and decided to try and find out
what’s so good about this place. But turned out aussie mates were not lying
when recommend places…
We went for the Trio Breakfast Tasting Plate so we can try all of the
famous menus in with small portions. The shakshouka was very flavorful and
delicious, corn fritter was so-so,
French toast was good as well as the granola bowl but the hero of the
dish was their pancake which people raved about and they are not lying!
4.
Le Monde – Surry Hills
Located in the heart of Surry Hills, Le Monde is a small and humble café
where I feel you can always go to for your casual Sunday brunches. Their foods
are surprisingly not too pricey whilst the portion is still adequate.
We ordered the Crunchy Potato Rosti with smoked salmon, roasted cherry
tomato, feta, spinach, poached egg, saffron hollandaise and crushed pistachio.
It was verrrryyyy good I have no complaints. And turned out most of their staff
are Indonesian!
